Robert “Bob” Winters: Multisystem Heart Failure

On vacation from Florida, Bob Winters experienced quite an unwelcome surprise: pain extreme enough that he asked to get taken to the hospital. His family drove him to Palomar Medical Center Escondido where the medical team diagnosed him with a blood clot in his bladder.

Complications from this caused his heart to become weak. But with Palomar Health’s medical team, led by Cardiologist and Medical Director Roger Acheatel, MD, they came up with a plan that saved Bob’s life.

Bob has since gone on to get an online minister’s license to marry a family member, attended two other weddings and drove across country in a motorhome.

“He does more now, I think, than he’s ever done,” says Bob’s wife.
