Dan Audick: Open-Heart Surgery

Former football player and Superbowl champion Dan Audick famously protected Joe Montana’s blind side in a play famously called “The Catch.” Now, he is now a Palomar Health patient.

After a knee replacement, Dan Audick experienced difficulty breathing with sweating and swelling. He arrived at Palomar Health Medical Center Escondido to discover he had blockage in his artery that already reached a critical level.

Doctors performed surgery, and the outcome? “Palomar Health saved my life,” Dan says. “I kind of equate it to that great play that I played in years ago. To me, this is my medical catch.”
